It's time to take back control!

Hello Yogis.

I don’t know about you, but all this doom and gloom and messages of powerlessness around the hottest topic of the year, and I don’t need to spell out what that is, are beginning to get to me.

I wanted to write to you, to encourage you to take back that feeling of personal control!

From this very moment, you can take responsibility for your own health and as a result, you will be protecting the most vulnerable in society!

Please do follow the advice of the Government, with regards to personal hygiene and travel advice, but beyond that do also recognise the power you have to improve your own health from this moment on.
I have read numerous articles about people panic buying everything from packets of pasta, to toilet rolls and sanitising hand gel!

I did wonder how many people were panic buying fresh fruit and vegetables in order to increase their immune responses.
Or how many people have decided to take a 30 minute brisk walk every day or jump on their yoga mat to get the breath and body moving, thereby increasing the natural levels of antibodies* that are circulating in the blood supply!

At this time, it is really important to look after your own health, and to take action like stopping smoking and drinking less alongside the other changes I have mentioned above.

Fear brings down your immunity!

When we are fearful and in shut down mode, the body is in stress! It is important to allow yourself time to be free again and to do the things you like to do to bring back balance and harmony to the nervous system.
Laughter is a great immune and energy booster, so why not grab a silly film or a funny book and get lost for a while.
I believe this virus needs to be taken seriously, and as a country, we are doing that, but we must remember to keep fear at bay and to allow positivity to reign!

To come to yoga or not?

I have asked each of my students to wash their hands on arrival to every class and to stay at home and rest if they feel at all unwell.
In light of this and to add to the fact that this virus is all but being contracted through overseas contact, or close contact to those who have been to affected areas, I feel the benefits of the improvement in immune function that yoga gives you, greatly outweighs any immediate risk from attending a local class.
I will of course keep up to date with current advice and adjust accordingly! Please do keep an eye out for any urgent Yoga Freedom Newsletter releases.
In light of any danger to my students, I will revert to taking online classes and 1-2-1 sessions via a platform called Zoom. I have received classes from a teacher in Trinidad through this system and it works really well. The 1-2-1 classes will have the option of Zoom, WhatsApp video or FaceTime video.
I will be running a couple of pilot 1-2-1 sessions over the next week or two with a couple of wonderful guinea pigs, and then I will be ready to offer the sessions for you to try out, You will receive a new Newsflash as and when this happens.

In the mean time, I am running a Workshop that will give you tools to begin your own regular and immune protective Home Yoga Practice! I may even throw in a few of my favourite juicing recipes.

The Workshop is due to take place on 25th April and is priced at £30.

If you book through me via email request, and stating the code MARCH14, before Saturday 14th March, you can attend for just £20!
I so look forward to seeing you in class and lets hope that this moves swiftly into the past and we can all enjoy the summer, with a sigh of relief!
With all my love!
Carrie-Anne.
